Description
The PH Artichoke pendant is considered to be a classical masterpiece designed by Poul Henningsen more than 40 years ago. Made of twelve steel arches, the PH Artichoke is the ultimate style icon. There are 72 "leaves" placed in twelve circular rows, with six blades in each row, staggered from the previous row. Thus, all 72 leaves overlap, allowing viewing from any angle without being able to see the central light source. The original PH Artichokes were developed for the Langelinie Pavilion restaurant in Copenhagen, and they are still in use today. The PH Artichoke is a classic icon of mid-century modern Scandinavian design, and is part of MoMA's Design Collection in New York.Details
